Nest Bowl is a smart feeding bowl for

the Google Home ecosystem, built to

translate what your pet can't tell you.

Pets are part of the household now,

more than ever. Google Home already

recognizes pets as family.

It just doesn't understand them.

Understanding starts with the one thing that matters most. Diet.

Proper nutrition drives a pet's physical wellbeing, energy, longevity, and immunity.

Insights from vets and pet owners

Pets hide pain and weakness.

An instinct, not a choice.

Give them a voice, by reading

the signals they can't say.

Feeding is a bonding moment,

not a transaction.

Bowl to keep the connection,

not an automatic feeder.

The gap isn't measurement.

It's translation of the data.

Provide guidance, not just data,

so every decision shows its result.

How might we help pet families understand their

pet's nutritional needs for a healthier household?

Ideating on a bowl form that

sees, weighs, and interprets.

Ideation explored how the camera mounts, keeping the

form simple for everyday use, and unobstructed access to

the bowl for eating comfort across pets of different sizes.

CAD form exploration evolved from

fragmented pieces to one clean form.

Early ideation integrated a camera onto a weight-sensing bowl.

As the form developed, a spill mat was introduced to unify elements

and contain the mess, making it easier for the owner to clean.

Prototyped for scale,

proportioned for comfortable eating.

Mockups tested bowl depth and diameter for different muzzle

sizes, along with overall form. They also helped in establishing

the key interaction and surface details.

Refining details for manufacturing feasibility

3D-printed parts helped refine modelled details and visualize product

assembly, guided by Google's sustainability and repairability goals.

Better feeding starts with knowing.

how your pet actually eats over time.
